The refurbishment of the existing IKEA Property Investments Service Office to relocate the Retail Co-worker Facilities to an alternative area and allow for an expansion in staff numbers within the existing office. The brief outlined a distinctly IKEA look with a ’UK’ touch to the finished office by introducing typically British iconography into the branding and finishes. With the relocation of the co-worker facilities it was possible to take what was a very inefficient and dark office environment and create a more interactive office by centrally locating all of the cellular space and wrapping the work areas to the exterior. This reduced the depth of the floor plate, maximising the natural daylight to the work areas.
