At Sandbanks, working within the constraints of a previously consented scale, bulk and mass we have redesigned each home for our client to exploit the setting to its maximum. Duplex units raise the living spaces up away from the shore line for a better view and a top floor penthouse enjoys the ultimate in privacy. Luxury has to be practical in our minds, to be sustainable. Masonry construction gives that sense of solidity and mass that is missing from so many of today's luxury homes. Fittings are durable and classic, Functional, not fashionable. Have we failed if a Vola tap is in all of today's architectural fashion magazines? Not if it's also in all the magazines back to 1950. A Vola tap will still be working long after the developers, first occupants and architects have left.
