As part of the architectural business strategy discussed with the BSI at the December 2025 audit four areas of expertise within the practice will be expanded throughout the year in response to the growing workload and research interests of the team.
Retrofit remains a key skillset, reinforced through our Steering Group role in the Hertfordshire Retrofit Accelerator programme. Modern methods of construction and an ongoing response to the homelessness crisis come together with work for Local Authorities to address excessive hotel use and with charities including Jimmy’s and Kairos who are delivering the care. Education is our other focus with SEND programmes and school retrofits requiring innovative, cost-effective design solutions.
January has already seen increased activity in all these strategy areas and provides optimism that the county is beginning to deliver work within the community and address the climate emergency, despite all of the negative rhetoric that prevails.
