Following planning approval in 2019 the scheme has now been tendered in anticipation of a start on site in mid 2020. The Larch clad office and amenity block will provide the refuse and recycling collection team with improved toilets, showers, dining spaces and workstations, replacing a building that is no longer fit for purpose. The new BREEAM rated building will be constructed before the old one is recycled, ensuring the residents of Three Rivers with continuity of service.
The depot will be reorganised as part of the works, improving vehicle manoeuvring and staff safety. The site has been futureproofed for an electric vehicle fleet and includes the new cycling facilities requested by the staff as part of the initial consultation. Construction is due to commence later this year.
