Bugler Developments have reached a key milestone on the project, topping out homes on the new street frontage and starting cladding the taller concrete framed block.
The joint venture scheme for Watford Borough Council and Watford Community Housing Trust forms part of the 400 unit masterplan for west Watford, delivering another 82 mixed tenure homes. The buildings adopt robust brick and block construction, with deep full fill cavity insulation as part of a fabric first approach to environmental sustainability. An all-electric energy solution contributes to the low carbon strategy, with stage 2 sustainability analysis addressing the risk of fuel poverty.
The next phase of work will see the formation of a new public square between the buildings, with cycle links to the Ebury Way Sustrans National Cycle Network.
