The London Borough of Camden have supported proposals to convert a 29m2 commercial office space back into residential use, in a listed Georgian property within the Fitzroy Square conservation area.
Consent was secured for the microhome by demonstrating through the architectural design that the apartment would function effectively and deliver a home that would be comfortable to live in. Being located in the heart of London’s West End it provides an ideal environment to work within the city and enjoy it’s social, and cultural opportunities. The internal flat layout is designed to respond to the needs of modern urban life, with a compact bathroom and kitchen, but ample storage.
As part of the retrofit proposals a low carbon heating system has been introduced in combination with thermal and airtightness upgrades to the historic building’s fabric. Conversion of the property is due to commence in early 2026.
