Being appointed onto frameworks for Watford Borough Council, Vivid Housing and Watford Community Housing is allowing Black Architecture to develop long term relationships with clients where learnings can bring benefits to future projects.
This opportunity to build relationships is sometimes missed on one off OJEU bids where local authorities are seeking multidisciplinary teams based on past experience, rather than future potential. Recent successes in Watford have come out of the connections that have been built between ourselves, the client, planning officers and a consistent team of consultants that have been assembled. New social rent homes on complex sites are being consented through this approach which enables a rigorous design process to be combined with proactive public consultation to overcome potential objections.
New opportunities arise out of these frameworks with clients valuing the service that is being delivered and the approach to design, rather than relying on a portfolio of sector specific work to inform their selection of architects.
