As part of our wider low carbon and residential research programme within Hertfordshire, Black have joined the working group supporting the Local Area Retrofit Commitment programme within the County.
The programme seeks to promote cross sector collaboration across Hertfordshire to accelerate the retrofit of buildings that will enhance the environment, address fuel poverty, improve health and support local jobs. As a geographical area, Hertfordshire has historically been at the forefront of innovative residential design and now has the opportunity to repeat this through the retrofit of the housing stock. Local and national expertise is informing the process, led by the MCS Foundation.
Securing consumer confidence is at the core of the process with a need for demonstrator projects that share data, both positive and negative. Black Architecture are well placed to assist with over 20 years of retrofit expertise.
