Planning approval has been secured by Black Architecture to install rooftop photovoltaic panel arrays on three separate projects across the country through a Prior Approval process.
The schemes in Liverpool, Chester and Newcastle are all located on mid rise commercial buildings in the city centres, making valuable use of the underutilised roof areas. The team at Black worked closely with the project manager and potential PV suppliers to develop layouts within the permitted development planning constraints, including assessment of proximity to commercial airports and hospital helipads.
Following the success of the initial projects a series of PV installations are to be tested on high rise commercial properties that will require compliance with the Building Safety Act Gateways on higher risk buildings.
