Following the granting of consent by Lambeth Council in 2020 the design team have been instructed to prepare the technical design and a contractor engaged.
The design sympathetically extends the brick and render mansion block on Wandsworth Road, adjacent to the new Nine Elms Underground Station, adding a new bay to the street frontage over a stopped-up road. Two new wings to the rear introduce a pair of additional flats to each floor and allow communal roof terraces to be provided for existing residents. The development will include the refurbishment of existing homes to improve their fabric performance and the addition of photovoltaic panels at roof level to supplement the 35% carbon reduction target.
The project incorporates a new retail unit to the street frontage, fully accessible wheelchair unit to the rear and enhanced secure cycle storage to offer residents wider sustainable transport options.
