These developer and local authority commissions will deliver a mix of private, affordable and in one case 100% social rent properties.
The two sites are surrounded by trees and adjoin a mix of semi-detached and terraced blocks on neighbouring estates. Both proposals will test the provision of traditional housing typologies and flatted accommodation to create new homes that link with the wider community through Design for Life principles. Each site has its own unique constraints that will challenge the design team and generate a richer environment in which to live.
A passive design philosophy will be adopted, evolving ideas tested on projects designed for the Community Housing Trust in Watford.
