Following the securing of Listed Building Consents from East Herts District Council and planning approval from Hertfordshire County Council by Black Architecture, work is progressing on site at Widford School to remove the structurally unsound roof.
Whilst the construction works themselves are uncomplicated, the enabling package required not only formal consents to be obtained for the listed school, but a separate planning approval for a temporary classroom located within the playground of a nearby federated school. Ecology, transport and arboriculture services procured by Black Architecture from the consultants we have collaborated with throughout the year allowed the project to be procured efficiently.
Based on the service delivered at Widford, the consultancy team which includes Ascerta, RGP and heritage specialist Anthony Fensome, have subsequently been engaged to deliver services across other Hertfordshire schools projects.
