Proposals for a grass MotoX track exclusively for electric motorcycles has been consented by Hertfordshire County Council at the West Hyde Young People’s Centre in Maple Cross.
The design of the track was developed in collaboration with Fearless Ramps and the team at the youth centre to provide a safe environment for teenagers to learn motorcycle riding skills and bike maintenance. The quiet electric motorbikes offer an environmentally responsible alternative to traditional petrol engine machines and enable the group activity to take place without impacting on the amenity of neighbours.
The consented track is located within greenbelt, one of the only facilities to have been granted approval in this land designation within the country. The proposal offers potential for other refused facilities to address concerns through the use of EVs.
