As part of a programme to intensify use across properties owned by a Central London Housing Association, a series of mews houses are being proposed on a backland car park in St John’s Wood.
The scheme being discussed with Westminster planning officers replaces car parking with new family homes located behind an existing affordable housing block. The properties place living accommodation and amenity space at ground and first floor, with bedrooms clustered around basement lightwells. The remainder of the car park is re-landscaped to provide amenity space for existing and new residents, with enhanced cycle storage introduced for all building users.
A rooftop extension and remodelling of three existing low environmental performance homes on the main building introduces six new apartments with private balconies and views across the capital.
